Ngành thép phục hồi giúp Hòa Phát lãi lớn trở lại.
Hoa Phat Group (code HPG) has just announced preliminary business results in the second quarter of 2023 with revenue of VND 29,800 billion, down 21% compared to the same period last year; profit after tax is 1,448 billion dong, down 64%. Accumulated in the first 6 months, Hoa Phat recorded VND 56,665 billion in revenue and more than VND 1,830 billion in profit after tax, reaching 23% of the year plan.
In the context of weak domestic and foreign market demand, Hoa Phat Group produced 2.86 million tons of crude steel, down 34% over the same period last year.
Sales volume of construction steel, billet and hot rolled coil (HRC) reached 2.9 million tons, down 27% compared to the first 6 months of 2022. In which, construction steel reached more than 1.6 million tons, 30% reduction; HRC steel reached 1.2 million tons, down 15%; steel pipe and corrugated iron achieved output of 325,000 tons and 175,000 tons, respectively, down slightly compared to the first 6 months of 2022.
In the field of agriculture, Hoa Phat clean chicken eggs are in the top 3 largest producers in Vietnam and leading in the North with about 900,000 eggs/day.
The field of home appliances showed signs of improvement when Funiki air conditioner production increased by 50% over the same period, reaching the top 10 air conditioner brands doing business at Dien May Xanh. The group also develops other products such as refrigerators, freezers, water purifiers, cooling fans, induction cookers, dishwashers, etc.
Regarding real estate, the total land fund of Hoa Phat industrial park approved for planning is more than 1,133 hectares.
Currently, Hoa Phat is focusing on implementing the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project, with a capacity of 5.6 million tons of HRC/year. After more than 1 year, the project has implemented about 30% of the workload. It is expected that Dung Quat 2 project will produce products in 2025.
