In October 2021, iron and steel exports of all kinds reached 1.22 million tons with a turnover of 1.23 billion USD, priced at 1,011 USD/ton, down 10% in volume, down 12% in turnover and down 2.4%. on prices compared to September 2021; but compared to October 2020, it increased sharply by 30.3% in volume, 142.8% in turnover and 80.4% in price.

Generally, in the first 10 months of 2021, iron and steel exports reached 11.07 million tons, with a turnover of 9.65 billion USD, the average price of 872.2 USD/ton, up 39.6% in volume, up 132.1% in turnover, increased by 66.3% in price over the same period last year. Among the key export groups of Vietnam, iron and steel is the group with the highest growth rate in the past 10 months.

In the last 3 months, the General Department of Customs has recorded a good growth rate of domestic enterprises. Generally, in 10 months, domestic enterprises exported nearly 7 million tons, up 48% over the same period last year; turnover reached 6.01 billion USD, up 149%, equivalent to 3.6 billion USD. Foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises exported 4.11 million tons, up 28%, turnover reached 3.64 billion USD, up 109%, equivalent to nearly 1.9 billion USD.

In the past 10 months, Vietnam's iron and steel exports to the main markets: ASEAN reached 3.19 million tons, down 7%; China reached 2.45 million tons, down 15.1%; EU reached 1.53 million tons, increased 8 times; The US reached 775 thousand tons, up 5 times over the same period last year. Currently, iron and steel is the group with the 7th largest export turnover of the country.
